Frequently asked questions

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time from your account settings. When upgrading, you're prorated for the remainder of the billing cycle. When downgrading, the change takes effect at the next billing date.

What happens to my saved patterns if I cancel Pro?

Your patterns remain accessible for 30 days after cancellation. You can export everything to JSON before then. After 30 days, patterns above the Free tier limit (10) are archived and can be restored if you resubscribe.

Is there a discount for open-source or education?

Yes — we offer a 50 % discount on Pro seats for verified open-source maintainers and accredited educational institutions. Email access@regexnest.dev with your project or institution details.

What regex engine does RegexNest use?

We use the ECMAScript 2024 regex engine with optional PCRE-compatible flags enabled per pattern. Lookahead, lookbehind, named capture groups, and Unicode property escapes are all supported.

How does the 14-day trial work?

You get full Pro access for 14 days — no credit card required. At the end of the trial, you can subscribe or continue on the Free plan. Any patterns you created during the trial are kept, subject to the Free tier limit.

Can I self-host the Enterprise plan?

Yes. Our self-hosted package is delivered as a Docker Compose stack or Kubernetes Helm chart. It includes the full web app, pattern database, and export service. You manage the infrastructure; we provide updates and support.
